My instructions will probably sound like it's difficult to find us, it isn't really, it's just that the road numbers tend to change as you progress and the signs are often hidden behind trees, there are several alternatives within the towns on the way. It should take 40 to 50 minutes from the airport or about the same from San Pedro. Basically head for COIN which can be found inland, at the top left hand corner of MAP1, top right of MAP2. We are south, on the road between Pto. De Los Pescadores and Coin, about 4km before the centre of Coin. Pto. De Los Pescadores is actually a roundabout at the junction of the Coin, Fuengirola, Mijas and Ahaurin el Grande roads. It also has a BP garage to make it more obvious. It is next to Alhaurin Golf, if you are lost it can be a useful place to ask for. There are 2 principal ways to us from Malaga airport. My preferred route for visitors is via Alhaurin de la Torre and Alhaurin el Grande. Take this route just a couple of km outside the airport heading towards the N340 & Cadiz etc. by following the (partly hidden) sign towards COIN. In more detail: After leaving the airport, cross over the first roundabout in the airport area where the car hire offices and San Miguel brewery are, then take the first exit right after a few hundred metres, taking you onto the N340 towards Cadiz & Algeciras, heading west. You soon pass the end of the runway, very soon after the runway take the first exit for COIN, the sign is very well hidden. Follow the signs (probably the road is A366) for Alhaurin del Torre then Alhaurin el Grande (may even say COIN). Pass through Alhaurin del Torre with its plague of traffic lights after a few km. Several km later you reach Alhaurin el Grande, you arrive downhill at a roundabout in the town, take the left exit uphill, this takes you around the old town for a couple of km. You pass through an area with speed bumps then you go steeply downhill, turn left at the first crossroads on the steep downhill section or you will evntually arrive at COIN the wrong way. This will bring you to a roundabout after a few km with the is the BP garage at Pto. De Los Pescadores This is the Alhaurin Golf roundabout, take the right towards COIN. The urbanisation Las Delicias is very visible on the right after about 4km, and is the first almost complete one you see on the right.. Turn right into the urbanisation, go under the archway, left at the roundabout, left at the next junction, we are #26up the hill on the left, just after an empty plot.
The slightly longer route with worse narrow roads is via the coastal highway, N340, and exit via either Mijas or Fuengirola,/Coin. Join this road outside the airport as before, heading towards Marbella, Cadiz, Algeciras, it's of motorway standard. You can use this one if you miss the COIN exit at the airport. The Mijas exit is just as you reach Fuengirola and is the secong Mijas exit, don't exit at the first one which is Benalmadena Pueblo/Mijas. Follow the signs to Mijas, up in the hills. Just as you reach Mijas the is another BP garage, take the left exit from the roundabout and almost immediately turn right very steeply uphill. This brings you out at Alhaurin Golf after about 10km, then follow COIN and we are on the right after 4km. The COIN exit alternative is only a couple of junctions later inside Fuengirola and is a less narrow road. Take care NOT to join the toll road (E15?) that takes you from Fuengirola to Marbella and beyond.
If you manage to arrive arrive in Coin without seeing Las Delicias follow the Mijas signs out of COIN and Las Delicias is on the left after 4km.
Below is a simple schematic of the development (there are no road names).
